QANDANJ obvious means questions and answers from New Jersey people. Many times I feel that the patron thinks he/she can get an answer about anything. Very often they don't realize they are talking to a librarian. For the question below I referred the patron to the divorce laws in New Jersey and Alabama, but suggested that an attorney be consulted. She seemed satisfied with the information I gave her.

Bruce, I've been noticing the chat transcripts you've been putting on your blog and wondering if how the patrons might feel were they to find their conversations online like this. Did the patrons give you permission to put these on your blog? If so, you should mention that in your posts.
Stephen - I am carefull not to place the patron's name in the blog post. The blog is aimed at librarians and its purpose to demonstrate a unique question and how I handled it.
